The Hanging Gardens of Babylon, are supposed to be a part of exterior walls of Babylon. This botanist wonder is probably linked to a king’s love for a woman. The gardens were attributed to the Neo-Babylonian king Nebuchadnezzar II, who ruled between 605 and 562 BC. He is reported to have constructed the gardens to please his homesick wife Amytis of Media, who longed for the plants of her homeland

The Hanging Gardens of Babylon, were one of the Seven Wonders of Ancient World. So they were placed to the list of Seven Wonders in 3rd century BC, pointing out their ability which made them miraculous: than they defied nature. They were said to been destroyed by several earthquakes after the 2nd century BC.

The Hanging Gardens of Babylon are documented by ancient Greek and Roman writers, but their physical existence is disputed. Nevertheless, the Gardens are the only of the Wonders which haven’t left traces. Despite the deep excavations that have become in Babylon, it hasn’t been found a construction which suits the descriptions of writers of Hellenistic period.

Although the existence of Hanging Gardens of Babylon hasn’t been confirmed, it isn’t unlikely.
