Flag Day, June 14th: The History Of Flag Day
On June 14, Americans celebrate the adoption of the
first national flag. Also known as the "Stars and Stripes" or "Old
Glory," the first American flag was approved by the Continental Congress
on June 14, 1777. In 1818, after 5 more states joined the Union,
Congress passed legislation fixing the number of stripes at 13 and
requiring that the number of stars equal the number of states.

Sushi was first made over 2000 years ago in Southeast Asia. Back then, people used to put salt on the fish to keep
it from going bad. They would put the salted fish in a container with
rice. After a few months, the fish could be eaten but the rice was
thrown away. This sushi became popular all over China and it was
introduced into Japan. The Japanese preferred to eat rice together with fish, so they ate the rice and fish together while the fish was still raw.
