almost half of the population of sub-Saharan Africa survives at that
income level.

More than 2 billion don't have clean water or basic sanitation
One quarter of humanity lives without electricity
A billion people are unable to read a book or sign their names
Every 3.5 seconds, a child dies from poverty.
